The hamburger is elevated to fine-dining status at The Capital Burger, the burger-centric new concept from the parent of The Capital Grille, Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse, to name a few of the big brands in Darden Restaurants’ fold. It’s not a coincidence that full-service Capital Burger sports a name reminiscent of Capital Grille, a high-end steakhouse: It’s based on what Darden calls a luxury burger, or one that’s presented as being equal in desirability to a strip or sirloin. The Capital Burger is located at 159 Newbury Street in Boston, Mass. and open seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. The restaurant spans two levels and 4,062 square feet, including an extensive lounge and semi- private dining space.

Next up—burger time! Mark ordered the signature Capital Burger with caramelized onions, Gruyere cheese, and a shallot aioli. He stepped up the game and added bacon to that bodacious burger and turns out the bacon is candied, which is bacon in its best form if you ask me (all of this with fries of course).
